Take the Adventure in Rizal Province
Are you looking for the perfect
adventure? In a rainforest, camping, swimming, falls, mountain and hiking
adventure I got you, here is the different place you will enjoy in Rizal?
MASUNGI GEORESERVE
First is Masungi Georeserve. In the Rizal rainforests,
this is the best-known conservation area and a rustic rock garden. Masungi's
name is derived from the word "masungki" which translates to
"spiked." In this sanctuary, guests will be able to relax with nature
and reenergize themselves while doing so. Through the paths, you'll come face
to face with a variety of wildlife and plant species. Before leaving the route,
stop for a quick snack. Learn more about the area's past, which will introduce
you to a community rich in history and culture.
If traveling from Metro Manila, the entry is on the
right side of the Marcos Highway road after the Garden Cottages, Foremost
Farms, and Palo Alto markers in Baras, Rizal. If you're traveling from Metro
Manila, make sure you take Marcos Highway instead of the Manila-East Road. As
visitors, we must treat the region with appropriate respect and vigilance. This
applies to the entire area from Kilometer 45 to 48, including the trail,
parking zones, and any locations adjacent to and within the Georeserve. As a
role model for conservation and sustainable tourism in the Philippines, we
encourage our visitors to follow our lead in the area. These are routinely
followed by our management, members, and visitors. End-use, private groups only
have
Things that you need to know before entering Masungi
Georeserve No littering of any kind is permitted. Please make sure that all
plastic packaging and goods such as cameras, sunglasses, and other similar
items are tight and won't fall off. Due to the air and health pollution caused
by smoking, the park is strictly a non-smoking zone. This includes bringing in
smoking paraphernalia, which is also prohibited. Smoking implements (lighters,
cigars, cigarettes, etc.) must be surrendered or kept in the car at the
Georeserve entry. Noise is not allowed. These could put a strain on the area's
fauna while also disrupting other visitors. Do not feed or touch wildlife if
you are fortunate enough to encounter it. Monitor lizards, snakes, civet cats,
cloud rats, and monkeys are just a few examples. The collection of flowers,
rocks, and other objects is also prohibited. All of this is available for
everyone's enjoyment. If authorization is required, make sure it is obtained
from management. Personal tipping is excluded. This guarantees that visits to
important conservation projects are not disrupted, and it supports consistency
in tourist experiences. Tipping outside of the community bucket may result in
the firing of the employees involved.
MOUNT DARAITAN
Next is the Mount Daraitan trip. You can expect an
action-packed day. Test your body's limitations as you scramble up its
600-meter slick slope to the karst-filled summit, where you can get a fantastic
view of the lovely sea of clouds and Sierra Madre. As a bonus, you can descend
to the Tinipak River, where you'll see incredible jagged limestone formations.
From afar, they resemble fractured rocks, hence the name. It's easy to see why
weekend warriors flock here, with its crystal clear waters and natural pool
areas within the caverns. Swim to your heart's content and seek out your own
little slice of adventure in the neighborhood. You can begin your Mt. Daraitan
adventure in a variety of ways. For general information, we'll explain our most
popular route, which begins and ends in Manila and includes transportation from
us. The suggested time to leave Manila is at 1 a.m. After a comprehensive
briefing, everyone will board the van and go to Bankerohan's riverfront. The
vehicle will remain here, so make sure you have all of your belongings with you
before crossing the river since you won't be able to return to the van until
the afternoon after your trip is finished.
Things you need to know for a safe trip to Mount Daraitan:
The hill might be slippery and muddy when it has
recently rained, making it a little more difficult. We recommend that our
tourists carry a trekking stick and a cheerful attitude to complete the
activity. What is the quality of the phone network? There are none on the hike
and only a few at the top. This can be beneficial if you truly want to
disconnect from work-related stress. Is there any water on the trail? Guess
what Tinipak River is safe to drink because it is clean! Children under the age
of ten are welcome as long as a parent or legal guardian accompanies them.
Having older members of society join us on our hikes is always a plus. It's a
good idea to check with your family doctor to see if you're well enough to
embark on an outdoor adventure.
What are the most important things to pack on this
trip? A small backpack, water, trail food, packed lunch, hiking footwear,
walking stick, Tinipak river swimwear, caving/spelunking flashlight, extra pair
of clothes, waterproof camera, and extra cash for miscellaneous charges.
MOUNT PURRO NATURE RESERVE
The MOUNT PURRO NATURE RESERVE, a family-run eco-park
outside Metro Manila in the Sierra Madre Mountain Range's foothills, is the
next stop. It is a simple but particularly sustainable travel destination. It
promotes a lifestyle of stewardship, simplicity, and sharing. God, Nature, and People
are also emphasized as authentic indicators of personal and community success.
With the aid of its partners, it strives to repair the Upper Marikina Watershed
and empower the people who live inside it, particularly the indigenous Dumagat
tribe.
Upon arrival, all guests will be subjected to an
obligatory temperature and health check. Those with a temperature of more than
37.5°C, fever or flu-like symptoms will not be permitted entry. Foreign and
domestic visitors with a history of travel may be asked to show their
passports, quarantine certificates, or health certificates. Wear a face mask
and face shield and wash or sanitize your hands at all times to maintain safety
and preventative precautions. It is recommended that used personal safety
devices be properly disposed of (face masks, sanitizers, etc.). When inside the
premises, maintain a social or physical distance. Please maintain a safe
distance between yourself and other persons (at least 2 meters). All guests
must remain inside the eco-park while checking in for their own safety. Only
guests going on the River Walk (accompanied by an MPNR employee or guide) are
allowed to leave.

the majority of which have been successfully produced in captivity through
AVILON's ex-situ conservation efforts.

feeding animals such as Arapaimas.

Manila. Dr. Joven Cuanang, a Filipino neurologist and arts patron, founded the
museum in 2010 to display his art collection. The museum (in Filipino, pinto
means door) was built on the belief that art may serve as a diplomatic tool for
reconciling disparate ethnicities, worldviews, and communities.

WINDMILL
The Pililla Windmills do not charge an entry fee or a
parking fee for visitors. The wind farm is accessible to the public, and anyone
can come to see it and enjoy its splendor. Going uphill from the parking area,
you'll come across a mini-museum where you can learn more about the Pililla
Wind Farm's construction and the magnificent windmill number 14.
There is also a viewing platform with a panoramic view of Laguna de Bay. We
hiked up to the top of the hill right across from windmill #14, unaware that it
is a private property (Altitude and Cool Winds) that requires a little fee of
10 pesos. The view is still worth the extra money because it is breathtaking.
We strongly advise you to do so in order to fully appreciate the enormity of
the additional ten windmills on display. We took a lot of photos, selfies, and
videos during our visit. We were so fortunate that day that we even witnessed a
double-rainbow encompassing a section of the wind farm. Isn't it lovely? If you
want to stay in the area, you can rent the entire site. Overall, our time at
Pililla Wind Farm was fantastic. Rather than traveling up north to Ilocos
Norte, this gorgeous wind farm is only a two-hour drive from Manila. We
recommend visiting in the afternoon when the sun's golden rays magnify the
splendor of the turbines; it's truly magnificent. Pililla, Rizal, is worth a
visit to witness its beauty!

MOUNT MAPALAD
Mt. Mapalad is located in Tanay, Rizal, the perfect
destination for mountaineers at all levels. With a 3/9 level of difficulty,
this mountain is best for a day hike adventure that is suitable for beginners.
The trail offers beautiful scenery. At the summit, you can find these two
instagrammable wooden palm structures with an impressive view of the mountain
range and sunrise. If you're lucky, you'll witness a sea of clouds too.
Mt. Mapalad is about a two-hour journey from Metro
Manila, depending on traffic. The best way to get there is to take the Marcos
Highway through Cogeo and then to Brgy. San Andres. The route to the jump-off
site is on the left side, and it's the same one you'll find when climbing Mt.
Batolusong or Mt. Alapaap. There is a Php50 parking fee for each vehicle. You
can hire a van or rent a car for convenience if you have a group of at least
five (5) people.
Wherever you go, strictly adhere to the Leave No Trace
guideline. Do not strew your trash everywhere. If there isn't a trash can
nearby, put them in an appropriate waste container or bring them with you.
Trees and rock formations should not be vandalized. Also, be considerate of the
wildlife. If you come across wild creatures, leave them alone. Provoke them as
little as possible. Wear hiking-appropriate clothing, including non-slip closed
shoes or sandals. Sharp rocks and sandy or muddy pathways will be encountered.
You can also protect yourself by wearing a hat and gloves. Bring only what you
need, such as water, trail snacks, extra lightweight clothing, toiletries, and
a packed lunch (if needed). In case it rains, keep your belongings in
waterproof bags.
MOUNT TAGAPO
The Province of Rizal is without a doubt home to the
gorgeous mountains, as it comprises a substantial chunk of the Sierra Madre
range. The most notable of these mountains are Mts. Daraitan, Balagbag, and
Binacayan. There are still a few mountains that we haven't explored, as well as
a couple that I haven't seen. One of them is Mt. Tagapo in Binangonan, Rizal.
This beautiful mountain tucked away from the main road will give you a
much-needed reconnection with nature that I had been longing for. After being
cooped up at home during the quarantine, it was a great opportunity to stretch my
weak limbs and get my adrenaline pumping. Mt. Tagapo is unlike any other
mountain in the world.
It is not necessary to make a reservation. Booking a
guide is not advised because they must adhere to a set of rules in order to be
fair to everyone. The first boat to Talim Island leaves at 5 a.m. Depending on
the number of passengers, till 6 p.m. It is possible to return to the mainland
from Talim Island as late as 5 p.m.-6 p.m. Camping at the peak is not
authorized for safety concerns. The peak is around 10-15 minutes away from the
authorized campsites. The hike from the trailhead to the peak can take up to 2
hours if done at a decent pace and with enough breaks. The hike up Mt. Tagapo
is challenging. Its trails are the ideal combination of steep ascents and flat
slopes. It's great for kids and beginners.
From Brgy. Janosa, there are two trails that go to the
summit of Mt. Tagapo. One is deep within the bamboo forest, and it was here
that we headed. The open trail, which is said to be the easier alternative
because there are more flats than ascents, is the other option.
Because there are no stores or water sources on Mt.
Tagapo, it's a good idea to stock up on water and food before setting out. For
safety reasons, face masks and face shields must be worn. Having alcohol on
hand is a requirement. Keep in mind to LEAVE NO TRACE at all times. Bring along
your trash and dispose of it responsibly. Be a good thief and don't steal. It
is not advisable to pick the plants. Simply enjoy the landscape and hope that
future generations will be able to do the same.
EL PATIO RAZON
Reward yourself with a visit to El Patio Razon, a
public rest stop across the street, after a long and hard hike up Treasure
Mountain. Guests can relax in a soothing Kawa Hot Bath or stay toasty by the
fire at night. Its remote location also allows for amazing stargazing, which
you must not miss!
Guests must make reservations for their two-hour
periods, which are restricted. There are no walk-ins allowed. Guests may not
share Kawa Baths unless they are a couple or from the same household, and the
same rule applies to tents. As a general rule, masks and face shields are
required, and social separation must be practiced. Access will be restricted to
anyone under the age of 21.
